Children's Cooking Classes 

Kids' Kitchen Club

Our Kids' Kitchen Club is generally held once a month on the first Sunday of the month. We hold three sessions at 9am, 10am and 11am. We cater for all kids aged 3-11 years. Cost is only $5 per child and bookings are essential as the classes are very popular.

School Cooking Clubs

Our kitchen team also run cooking classes for local primary school students during school terms. 

The groups of up to ten students from each school visit the Te Whare Oranga kitchens once a week for a lesson in food "Around The World."

These courses have been made possible with support from Helensville Lions Club, Foundation North and the Helensville District Health Trust.

Food Handling Certificate Assessment

If you’re in the food industry, whether in a café, supermarket or marae, you’ll know the importance of keeping your staff trained and qualified in food safety and handling. That task has become a little easier, with Keryn Reardon, Kitchen Manager at Te Whare Oranga ō Parakai recently gaining the credentials to act as an assessor for Food Standards. So, if you have staff or volunteers who need their Service IQ accreditation updated, contact Keryn at kitchen@thrivekaipara.org.nz.
